Mindset: The Faith over Fear Formula | ep68

Wholehearted Coaching The Podcast Episode 68.png

About this episode:

One thing I can't stand in the world of wellness and coaching is false positivity. There's nothing more harmful and toxic than some coach telling you to say "I am enough" or "I am worthy" when every part of your being doesn't believe what you are saying.

While these are wonderful thoughts, if you’ve been saying the exact opposite to yourself for 20+, 30+, 40+ years, you can’t just switch overnight.

This is where my Faith over Fear Formula comes in.

It's a mindset framework that I created after getting so frustrated at all the toxic false positivity in the world of coaching.

Listen, mindset work is the real deal. It's truly what changes lives. But it only works if you do it slowly and meet yourself where you're at.

(My Faith over Fear Formula is the last thing I teach you in Inner Compass: The Course. It's my tried and true mindset framework that shows you how to shift your beliefs in a way that is sustainable and believable. It's the last thing in The Course because I want to equip you with sustainable success. So that any time a dream pops into your head and heart you know how to go after it.)

Now let's get to the heart and soul of mindset work....

Many of my clients come to me doing all the right things. They’re investing in themselves, they’re going after big goals, they got schedules, deadlines and spreadsheets. They are truly on top of it. BUT the thing they desire just isn’t happening.

Their business isn’t making much profit.
Their dating life is one failed Tinder date after another.
Their passion project is still a work in progress.

They’re frustrated and feel like failures, ready to give up. Because they’re obviously putting in the work, so where are the results?! Here is what’s holding them back- they don’t believe that it’s going to happen.

They’re doing all the right things but deep down, they just don’t think they’re going to succeed.

So often we embark on the most important goals of our life with the underlying belief that: “This won’t work out, so don’t get your hopes too high, ok?.” So we do all the things, we put in all the effort with a cloud over our hearts, and a fog in our minds. I call this running a marathon through mud. Yes, you can still run the race but it’s tiring and miserable, and the likelihood of you getting injured is so much higher.

This is what it’s like when we go after our goals with fear.

When we go after our goals with faith, we’re still running the marathon but we’re doing it on a beautifully paved path right next to the mud. The one with the water stations and the crowds cheering. It’s still work going after our dreams with faith, but there’s more joy and ease. And even if we don’t get to the end, it’s still an incredible experience.

So, which race do you want to be part of, love?

What if you chose to believe that it will happen? What if you went through life expecting that it will work out? What changes? You bring back the joy, the ease, the amazingness of it all.

Choose faith over fear every time when it comes to your dreams. And listen, I’m not saying that if you expect it to work out, it magically will.

There’s a chance it won’t. But I know with 100% certainty that if it doesn’t work out, you will know exactly what to do. You will figure it out. Because you always do.️

About your host, Shirin Eskandani

Hi, love! I’m Shirin.

Coach, speaker, writer, and life alchemist.

I teach you how to trust your intuition again, tune out all the BS, and let your heart lead the way.

Because once you strengthen your inner GPS, decisions become easier, boundaries become clearer, and belly laughs become a daily thing.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME:

  • I’m a certified life coach (accredited through the International Coach Federation)

  • My husband and I met on Instagram and we live in Brooklyn, NY with our plant babies

  • I have a masters degree in Music and was a professional opera singer for twelve years.  I worked all over the world singing on stage at Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Opera (more on that later…).

  • I believe in the woo just as much as I do the work (internal and external).  No amount of crystals and affirmations will make up for a lack of a healthy mindset and aligned action.

  • I love all the Real Housewives franchises.  Don’t make me choose one… seriously, don’t.
