The 2 Words that Keep Us Feeling Stuck in Life | ep 129

See this content in the original post

Today’s topic is all about those 2 words that hold us back from feeling fulfilled, at peace, happy, and successful in our lives. And I know, love. You’re probably wondering, “How could 2 words hold so much power?”

That’s what we’re getting into today. We’re also looking at how you can navigate those moments when those 2 words seem to have so much power over you. And trust me, this week’s podcast episode is a game changer you’re going to want to listen to over and over again.

“If Only…”

These two words when uttered together create the biggest barrier to feeling satisfied and content with our lives.

They’re the biggest barriers to our joy, our fulfillment, our happiness, our success, and our peace.

Yes, I know that sounds like a really bold statement to make, but when they’re put into a sentence they display their full potency:

  • If only I had more money, I would be so much happier right now.

  • If only I had gotten a few more hours of sleep, I would be so much more productive today.

  • If only I was a few pounds lighter, I would feel so much better about myself.

If only. If only. If only…

Does that sound familiar, love?

I call this the “If Only” Mindset. And we all fall for it.

The If Only Mindset tricks us into thinking that we are one “If Only” away from feeling the way we want to feel.

It makes us believe that once our If Only’s are gone or solved, we will find our happiness, our joy, our freedom, our worth.

It makes us believe in a mythical place called “there” and that once we get “there,” everything will be perfect and wonderful.

But we all know this is a lie. We’ve all gotten “there” and we soon realize it’s not so different from “here”.

Because the truth is, the only thing waiting for you on the other side of your If Onlys is another set of If Onlys.

We’ve all experienced this:

  • We think if we finish a couple more to-dos we’ll feel more productive, but then there are more to-dos.

  • We think we’re one paycheck away from relief and then we’re like, “I wish I had just a bit more.”

  • We think if we had more clients we would feel better but we get more clients and now we’re overwhelmed and need support.

Love, the If Only’s are endless.

And if you allow yourself to stay stuck in this mindset, you will find yourself in an endless and exhausting pursuit of goals that will ultimately never fulfill you, because once you accomplish one thing, you’re on to the next thing.

What would it be like to release the If Onlys, love?

What would it be like if you could allow yourself to feel the way you wanted to feel right now?

What would it be like if you allowed yourself to feel worthy, successful, at peace, grounded without having to accomplish or do one more damn thing?

What would it be like?

If there was a podcast episode to listen to, it’s this week’s. There are some helpful ways to navigate your If Only’s and to find the deeper meaning underneath them.

I teach you how to listen to your intuition again, tune out all the BS, and let your heart lead the way.

Because once you strengthen your inner GPS, decisions become easier, boundaries become clearer, and belly laughs become a daily thing.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME:

  • I’m a certified life coach (accredited through the International Coach Federation)

  • My husband and I met on Instagram and we live in Brooklyn, NY with our plant babies

  • I have a masters degree in Music and was a professional opera singer for twelve years.  I worked all over the world singing on stage at Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Opera (more on that later…).

  • I believe in the woo just as much as I do the work (internal and external).  No amount of crystals and affirmations will make up for a lack of a healthy mindset and aligned action.

  • I love all the Real Housewives franchises.  Don’t make me choose one… seriously, don’t.
